Wesley's Windows

The stained glass windows in our sanctuary inform and inspire

Faith, Art, Glass, and Light

The great stories of the Bible come to life in Wesley Memorial Methodist’s stunning, stained glass windows. They are among of the highlight’s of the church’s inspiring, neo-Gothic sanctuary, and an integral part of the Wesley worship experience. As the sunlight illuminates each of the handmade windows in turn during the course of the day, exquisite detail brings age-old stories to life; and the divine and the human combine in a unique manner that stirs the soul.

More than 135 biblical stories and figures are depicted in the 26 windows, crafted for the church by the renowned Willet Stained Glass Studios when the sanctuary space opened in 1968. Willet legend Marguerite Gaudin was the primary artist. Wesley is one of the more than 1,000 installations she designed during her storied career. Artisans at the 127-year-old firm built the windows using techniques little changed in a thousand years.

Wesley is delighted to share this treasure with all who seek it; both through our regular and special worship services, and through dedicated tours delivered by members of the Wesley Stained Glass Team guide. We welcome believers everywhere to share in this artistic bounty.
