Wear Layers to Worship
As we enter the season of cool mornings and warmer afternoons, please be aware that the heat is not yet on inside the building. Many areas will feel chilly, especially in the mornings. We encourage you to dress in layers or bring a blanket to stay comfortable during our services.
Fall activities
Cover the City Blanket Drive
We are excited to announce that our annual Cover the City Blanket Drive will kick off on the first Sunday in November and run throughout the entire month. Collection boxes will be available at all three services for your donations of blankets.
As you snuggle in your warm bed this season, please take a moment to remember those who are less fortunate. Over the past 10 years, this organization has collected more than 100,000 blankets, and this year, the need is greater than ever. While our hearts are often drawn to the mountains of North Carolina, let us not forget the pressing needs in our local community.
We encourage you to dig deep and help us make this drive a success! If you don’t have blankets to donate, you can still contribute by marking your check “Cover the City.” Thank you for your generosity!
Veteran Outreach
The church is working to identify veterans in our community so we can keep them informed about future programs and activities. If you or someone you know is a veteran, please contact the front desk to provide your information.

The Wonders of Wesley’s Windows
The stained glass windows in Wesley’s sanctuary are a marvel that dazzles the eye and lifts the spirit.
Now there is an opportunity to know and understand them in a deeper way.
Wesley’s congregation is invited to tour the windows on two special days this fall.
On Saturday, Oct. 5th, at 9 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m., and on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., members of Wesley’s recently reconstituted sanctuary tour group will lead tours specifically designed for our members.
The guides will detail the history of the space and the windows, and highlight the stories – there are a lot of them – that the windows tell.
Did you know that there are more than 135 biblical stories and characters depicted in our windows?
There are. And that’s not all. We also have famous musicians, generals, a couple of snakes, a dog, a unicorn, and 17 (or so) sheep.
Come meet them all … in the sanctuary.
Our sanctuary.
To help us make these tours as meaningful and enjoyable as possible, we ask that congregation members register for a specific tour. Just call the church office (336-884-2204) on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and give them your name and the names of those attending with you.
We’ll look forward to seeing you then.
Tour Wesley’s Windows

2024 Missions Update
Our Commitment to the community
The Missions team has decided to split our monthly Communion Sunday food collection between Open Door Ministries and Macedonia Family Resource Center. Both of these organizations are an integral part in fighting hunger in the High Point area. Macedonia received food donations from the postal drive in April but have already depleted their pantry as more families are requesting food. Many of these family units are becoming multigeneration because of the rising rent cost and the cost of living. Open Door Ministries provides critical services in our community for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity. Wesley Memorial has been associated with this ministry for many years by providing both financial aid and volunteers. To help offset this increased demand for Food Pantry items, a collection of nonperishables is taken up each month on Communion Sunday.
Sunday, December 1st will be our next collection going to Open Door Ministries.
Sunday, January 5, 2025 will be our next collection going to Macedonia Family Resource Center.
Bins will be placed outside of all three services for your deposits. Please bring items as you're able, knowing your kindness helps our neighbors in need. Thank you for your generosity.
